Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a subtle and relaxing healing method with a profound positive impact on the entire body. It activates the body's natural capacity for self-repair.

The therapy was developed from the work of the American Osteopath Dr. W. G. Sutherland. The name comes from the words "cranium" (skull) and "sacrum" (sacral bone). With gentle contact I can perceive different craniosacral rhythms within the body, which are expressed by the faint movement of bones, membranes and tissues. This "breath of life" materializes through the fluctuations of the cerebrospinal fluid in the body, similar to the ebb and flow of the sea.

Craniosacral therapy works on the physiological and the psychological level.

Craniosacral therapy is particularily appropriate for:

  • headaches, neck and back pain
  • tinnitus, dizziness
  • burnout, depression, sleeping disorders
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • whiplash trauma
  • support during and after pregnancy
  • evening care for mothers and newborn babies
  • support of the immune system
  • post-operative rehabilitation
  • central nervous system disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • birth trauma
  • temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD)
  • the regulation of the organs, the lymph system, the hormone system, and the central nervous system

Craniosacral Therapy is so gentle that it is suitable for babies, the elderly and other vulnerable patients.

A session generally takes an hour and you will usually lie fully clothed on a treatment couch. Before the first treatment, a full medical history is taken and we will discuss the reason for the consultation. All information is completely confidential (as required with all registered practitioners).

The treatment is covered by most health insurance policies. I am recognized by the EMR.

For many years I have offered pregnant women, newborns, babies, toddlers, children and teenagers as well as adults Craniosacral Therapy with a lot of joy, mindfulness and experience. After childbirth, I offer home visits to families.

pregnancy support

In addition to accompanying a qualified midwife, I support pregnant women in coming into contact with their own strengths and needs. Trust and intuition in your own body are essential in the months leading up to the birth. Nowadays, these inner properties are sometimes replaced by medical possibilities. Our cooperation supports you in finding the path that suits you individually during the months before the birth. The growing baby is lovingly accompanied in its individual development. If the child feels that the mother has confidence in her body and her intuition, the baby's confidence and trust will also be strengthened.

My understanding of the importance of the prenatal/prenatal period and birth flows into my craniosacral body work and my expertise in trauma care:

Births shape us - as a mother, as a father, but above all as a child.
What we experience throughout pregnancy, just before and during birth, influences how we are in life. Not only in the intellectually accessible consciousness, but in our body as deep-seated patterns that determine our entire feeling and emotional actions. It shapes how we are in relationships, what we perceive as stress or how we trust ourselves and others.

In the prenatal and birth body work we approach these imprints together. Explore and understand them in order to then appreciate and, if necessary, transform them.
What appears to us as a burden or limitation can heal. Previously hidden potentials and strengths can unfold and open the way to fulfillment and balance.
So that we are reconnected to our resources.

Craniosacral Bodywork for Newborns, Babies & Children

Loving support after the birth and processing of a birth with interventions.

During birth very strong forces act on the baby. On the one hand these forces can cause displacement of the skull bones. Sometimes they can also trigger fear and helplessness and build up severe tension in the newborn's body. A caesarian section or other birth interventions such as suction cups or forceps can also be an overwhelming event for baby and mom. I will gently and attentively accompany your child in resolving any skull deformations, compressions experienced during birth, and the resulting tension, tension and fears, so that baby and mom can feel relaxed and comfortable together.

Craniosacral body work is particularly effective with babies and children:

  • after forceps, suction cup, caesarian births
  • for crying children (suckling difficulties, sleeping problems, abdominal cramps, reflux)
  • with skull deformations, torticollis
  • with tonus problems (hyper- or hypotonus)
  • with ADD and ADHD
  • for jaw and tooth position problems
  • with autism
  • to increase self-confidence
  • for transitions such as entering kindergarten or school
  • in post-traumatic stress disorder
